About Princess YiYi and her New Opera

Princess YiYi  is a US-based New Opera Singer and dancer specializing in brining the Oriental art form to the Western world. She was born into a famous Chinese Opera family ,with her mother, aunty and uncle all being well know opera performers.

Learning drama and dance from a young age, Princess YiYi followed the performing style known as the Mei school,named after the highly regarded Chinese Opera Maestro Mei Lanfang,

Princess YiYi is bestowed with a beautiful physical appearance and a clear, rich and expressive singing voice. She has not only mastered the difficult techniques of singing and dancing at the same time both in Chinese and English to a very high standard, but has also enriched the elegant classic dance moves with some Kung Fu elements all in ones.

Her experience of life in both China and the West countries helps her to make her Opera's Characters both strong and tender and amorous and graceful. It's pleasant visual and audio enjoyment to watch her perform.  

Princess YiYi aims at presenting the beauty of the Orient to the Western world. She thinks art is not confined to one school, one area or one country. It belongs to  the whole world.

She thinks time moves on. While we should respect the tradition in art, we should also make improvements. She knows that any new element will likely encounter mixed views, with approval from some and opposition from others, she believes that art can be expressed in multiple forms to please and inspire people's spirit.
